There is a saying called, “Too much of anything is good for nothing”. So, when we are overloaded with too much of information and resources, we do struck up in choosing the best one for us and confuse ourselves in differentiating between right and wrong.

If we open instagram or whatsapp status, we see everyone happy with their lives and doing the best. After seeing those snaps, we start to compare our lives and struggles with them thinking that I am the only person who is suffering a lot in the world. Then we get into self-doubt and low self-esteem. But what we fail to realize is, social media is used by many to post only their good times and not bad times.

We use various filters in photo apps and post the best version of us. This may influence the youngsters that having a fair skin tone and flawless skin is the only beauty standard.

Social media also never fails to confuse us with fake news. It spread fake news about the personal lives of celebrities and politicians making us to believe. Since public can comment on other’s post in social media easily, without any reasons or restrictions, they are giving filthy comments on their posts which makes the concern person to feel bad about themselves.

Our brain ignores the positive comments and sink in bad comments making us to believe that we are not worth. Even when the negativity is negligible, social media spreads it quickly like a forest fire to make it visible as a larger one. If we escape from this illusive world to real world, it is a boon.
