Since its inception in August 2020, Pruthvi Molachi Foundation, founded by passionate environmentalists Parag Panchabhai and Niharika Belwalkar, has been making significant strides toward creating a sustainable and environmentally conscious future. With its focus on ecological restoration, rural development, and environmental awareness, the foundation has emerged as a beacon of hope for communities and nature alike.
Over the past four years, the foundation has undertaken numerous impactful initiatives:
1. Creation of Miyawaki Forests Across India:
The foundation has successfully developed five Miyawaki forests in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Haryana. These dense, native forests have contributed significantly to restoring biodiversity, combating climate change, and improving local ecosystems.
2. Plantation and Conservation of 22,000+ Trees:
By spearheading tree plantation drives, Pruthvi Molachi Foundation has added more than 22,000 trees to urban and rural landscapes, enhancing green cover and contributing to carbon sequestration.
3. Seed Bank in Halol, Gujarat:
A testament to their dedication to preserving indigenous biodiversity, the foundation has established a seed bank conserving 80+ indigenous seed varieties. Engaging over 100 farmers, this initiative promotes sustainable agricultural practices while safeguarding traditional crops.
4. Rural Development Program for Tribal Villages in Dhule District:
The foundation has actively worked on empowering tribal communities in Dhule district through livelihood enhancement, sustainable farming training, and infrastructure support, fostering holistic development.
5. Online Environment Awareness Programs:
Leveraging the power of digital platforms, Pruthvi Molachi Foundation has reached thousands of people through YouTube videos and social media campaigns. These programs focus on spreading awareness about climate change, sustainable living, and conservation practices.
6. Other Impactful Activities:
The foundation has also organized several tree plantation projects, awareness campaigns, and sustainable farming workshops to engage communities and inspire collective action toward environmental conservation.
