Early Life and Education
Mr. S. Bala Murugan, born in 1986 in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, discovered his passion for martial arts at an early age. He began his journey in martial arts in 1997, dedicating himself to rigorous training and mastering various disciplines, especially Karate and Boxing. His commitment to education led him to pursue a Master’s Degree in Computer Application (MCA) from the Government Institute of Technology, Vellore.
Professional Career
After completing his Master’s Degree, Mr. Bala Murugan established a software company in Chennai, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. In 2013, he developed a web portal, www.sureshmaa.com, to promote martial arts across India. This platform was created to bring awareness about martial arts and connect enthusiasts from different parts of the country.
His consistent efforts in promoting martial arts inspired him to establish the World Karate Masters Association (WKMA) in 2019. The association was founded with a mission to bring the art of Karate to every citizen by fostering unity and eliminating partiality and politics among martial arts masters. Today, the association is recognized in 55 countries with over 850+ affiliated members worldwide.

- International Level: Selected for the World Shito Ryu Karate Championship.
- National Level:
- Won two Gold Medals in Karate.
- Won a Bronze Medal in Muaythai.
- Participated in Boxing (All India University).
- State Level:
- Won two Gold Medals in Boxing (University level).
- Won Gold in Kickboxing.
- Won Gold in Wrestling.
